The Story Behind Su Misura Italy

“Su misura” means “tailored” in Italian. And that’s exactly what this school is about.

At Su Misura Italy, learning is shaped around you. Your goals, your rhythm, and the way you want Italian to become part of your life.

We offer a more personal way of learning, through intimate small groups, one-on-one personalised sessions, and experiences that bring the language into real, everyday use.

Since 2018, we’ve been guiding students from all over the world, and here on the Mornington Peninsula, towards a way of learning Italian that feels natural, engaging, and truly theirs.

A little about me

Ciao , I’m Monica.

I grew up in a small village in Piemonte, in my grandparents’ shop, a place where people came not just to buy things, but to talk, share stories, and feel part of something… And in many ways, what I do today started there.

That sense of connection, of taking the time to listen, to understand, and to make people feel comfortable, has stayed with me. It’s at the heart of how I teach and how Su Misura Italy came to life.

After studying Architecture in Turin and working across hospitality and events, I realised that what I truly loved was bringing people together, creating experiences where people feel at ease, curious, and connected.

I now live in Dromana, Australia with my husband Damian, our boys Charlie, Jack and Liam & our dogs Florence and Taco.

Outside of teaching, I’m drawn to simple, comforting things, hazelnut ice cream, time in the garden, baking cakes, and a good romantic movie, my favourite is You’ve Got Mail.

I love listening to old music, writing long to do lists, and discovering new places whenever I can.

Today, I work with a small team of wonderful tutors, supporting students online and here on the Mornington Peninsula, through intimate small groups, one on one sessions, workshops and experiences for families.
